Annual Impact Report

It’s Impact Report Time

When we founded Profitable Purpose back in 2021, one of the first things we did was setup systems to track our important metrics. We built out a sales funnel with leads, likelihood to close, contract amount, and next steps. We set up a spreadsheet to track our expenses (we’ve since moved to Quickbooks, but still use the sheet

In early 2022, as we were approaching our one-year anniversary, the team at Profitable Purpose Consulting began the work to certify our company as a B Corporation. Since our founding a year earlier, we had meticulously tracked our impact key performance indicators (KPIs)–metrics like supply chain diversity, volunteer and pro bono hours, and items related to our carbon footprint. So it made sense that we emphatically checked the impact report box on our company transparency question and decided on what we would share in that report.

Releasing an impact report was worth 0.38 points out of the 80 needed to certify, but it was a no-brainer way to share our impact goals, metrics, and our performance against them.

The metrics we committed to share, worth another 0.90 points towards certification.

Fast forward a year and we are excited to release Profitable Purpose Consulting’s 2nd annual impact report. 2022 was a big year for us, leaving the security of a full-time job at Georgia’s biggest B Corp, Ad Victoriam Solutions, for the opportunity to become a full-time culture, impact, & B Corp consultant. What makes us the proudest is that we hit all of our commitments during a whirlwind of revenue growth (4x), excitement, and the anxiety that comes with entrepreneurship.

Here are some of the highlights:

  • 32% of our suppliers were locally based, with another 38% owned by underrepresented minorities.
  • 25% of revenue was donated in the form of volunteer hours logged.
  • 13% of our work was done pro bono.
  • We joined 1% For The Planet, donating 6% of revenue in total to different nonprofits.
  • With our growth, our carbon footprint grew, but we offset 11.4 tons of our scopes 1, 2, & 3 emissions.

We’re excited for another year of impact and are already on track to meet our Pledge 1% commitments for volunteerism, pro bono work, & charitable contributions, respectively. We’ll also continue to partner with We Are Neutral to offset our environmental impact and intentionally work to diversify our local suppliers whenever possible.

You can read the full report here. And yes, those background pictures are all ours, from travel taken over the past year or two (bonus points if you can name any of the locations or national parks).
